The administration of bowls in Victoria became unified in 2010, which merged the previous men’s and ladies’ bowls associations.  Victoria was divided into 16 regions (metro and country) to look after various aspects of the game and administration.  The regions became incorporated bodies and developed their own constitutions.

The Metro West Region comprises 22 lawn bowls clubs affiliated with Bowls Victoria in the west of Melbourne, Altona, Altona North, Altona Sports, Bacchus Marsh (Avenue and Bacchus Marsh venues), City of Melbourne, Deer Park, Footscray Park, Hoppers, Laverton, Melton, Mt Cottrell, Newport, Palm Lake, Point Cook, Port Melbourne, Rosamond, St Albans, Sunshine RSL, Sunshine VRI, Werribee, Williamstown, Yarraville-Footscray.
